The enigmatic Knights templars built this Castle to image and resemblance of those that earlier they had constructed in Holy Land. The monument preserves at present all the peculiarities of a work it would moderate being one of the clearest exponents of the above mentioned characteristics.
East castle Templar-Pontifical, inhabited for many years by the Pope Moon (Benedicto XIII), shares with the Vatican and the Palace of Avignon the privilege of having been a Pontifical head office; one of the three who has existed along the history.
From June 4, 1931 it is a National historical - Artistic Monument and gathers between his walls more than 700 years of existence, turning, for the visitor, into a door for which to gain access to the experience of his history and a perfect place for the enjoyment of the free time and the culture.
